Enclothed Cognition

Role — Co-founder & Designer

Enclothed Cognition is a collaborative art & fashion project with Dutch designer, Bregje Cox. The collection is inspired by our collective relationship with architecture and the behavioral psychological theory of Enclothed Cognition. Particularly how a garment’s symbolic meaning paired with the physical experience of wearing the garment combines to impact the wearer’s performance in everyday tasks.

Three garments from Enclothed Cognition collection are in the permanent collection of the International African American Museum.  Select pieces have been included in exhibitions at the Bonnefanten Museum and Cube Design Museum. The project has also been presented at Dutch Design WeekModefabriek, FASHIONCLASH Festival and Ethno Tendance group fashion shows. In October 2019 we were commissioned by Tate Modern to develop a four-day workshop in their Tate Exchange space.
