Mailchimp Presents

Creative Director — Pop-Up Magazine Productions Brand Studio

CURRENTS is an episodic video series celebrating the ephemeral experience of well-considered independent businesses. Filmed in collaboration with small businesses in Brooklyn, Austin, San Francisco, Oakland, and Yucca Valley, the series was informed by an interest in environmental psychology and a deep appreciation for unique retail experiences.

Directed the creative concept development, led crative stakeholder management, contributed instant film photography, and traveled with the film crew to each location.

The project was so successful Mailchimp expanded the campaign from a web video series to a US national theater tour sponsorship seen by over 25,000 attendees, generating 8x revenue above the original project scope.

Google Year in Search Magazine

Creative Manager — Pop-Up Magazine Productions Brand Studio

2021’s Google Search trends revealed the various ways—big and small, tender, awkward, inspiring, and hopeful—that the world searched, more than ever before, for healing.

Thanks to the success of the 2020 Year in Search magazine (which I Creative Directed), Google asked Pop-Up Magazine to go even bigger on 2021’s issue in translating the year’s search trends into compelling stories about our world.

As creative manager, I led image licensing procurement and creative production and assisted in artist selection for the “How Do You Heal?” feature story.

Patagonia

Senior Creative Producer — Pop-Up Magazine Productions Brand Studio

Italian fisherman Paolo Fanciulli had tried everything to stop deep-sea trawlers from harming his beloved Mediterranean ecosystem. He protested, monkey-wrenched and even impersonated a policeman, but nothing worked. That’s when he hatched the plan to commission 10-ton marble sculptures and place them on the ocean floor.

As creative producer, I secured permissions from all of the participating artists in the beloved underwater public art project. I also assisted the photo director and creative director with photo research, image licensing, and video research.

Enclothed Cognition

Co-Founder & Textile Designer

Enclothed Cognition (est. 2016) is a collaborative fashion project with Dutch designer, Bregje Cox. The collection is inspired by humanity’s relationship with architecture and the behavioral psychological theory of Enclothed Cognition. The collaboration exists where fashion, art, and technology collide.

Pieces from the collection are in the permanent collection of the International African American Museum.  Select garments have been included in exhibitions at the Bonnefanten Museum and Cube Design Museum. The project has also been presented at Dutch Design Week, Modefabriek, FASHIONCLASH Festival and Ethno Tendance fashion shows. In 2019 we were commissioned by Tate Modern to develop a four-day workshop. At the time it was Tate’s most engaging workshop ever.

Pop-Up Magazine Fall Tour 2022

Produced and art directed the sponsored content story, Drawing a New Path by Andrea Campos for LinkedIn. I worked closely with the artist (who doubled as the on-stage storyteller) to ilustrate key moments in her journey that took her from a marketer to full time artist being interviewed by Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show. I storyboarded each scene and worked closely with the artist and animation studio to bring Andrea’s illustrations to life on the big stage.
